About Us

Pioneering Sustainable Solutions for African Agriculture
Our Vision

Our vision is to revolutionize agricultural monitoring and forecasting in West and Central Africa through cutting-edge technology and data-driven solutions.. This holistic downstream and forecasting service, developed under the West and Central African Food Systems Transformation (WCA-TAFS) Initiative, provides crucial information on three major agricultural challenges: Climate stress, Fall Armyworm infestations, and Striga weed invasions. By combining satellite data, ground observations, and advanced modeling, we aim to empower farmers, agricultural organizations, and policymakers with timely, accurate information to enhance food security and agricultural resilience across the region.

Our Impact

Through our interactive Home page, we provide comprehensive visualization of agricultural stressors across different months and forecast periods, enabling proactive decision-making in farming communities.

Our platform has become an essential tool for agricultural stakeholders, helping them monitor and predict climate-related stress, pest infestations, and weed challenges. Developed by the Data Management, Modelling, and Geo-Information (DMMG) Unit at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) in Nairobi, Kenya, this digital advisory system represents a significant step forward in agricultural technology and sustainable farming practices in Africa.
